Volunteering with AHLA takes different shapes at different stages of a career. Recognizing that members’ availability and capacity shift over time, the Volunteer Pathways framework offers easy entry and exit points for participation, with opportunities, resources, and support tailored to members’ interests and goals. 

Each of the four pathways – from new volunteer to strategic leader – comes with its own skills, roles, and learning resources. Explore the framework to find a pathway that fits today. 

AHLA offers volunteer opportunities for authors, speakers, mentors, judges, and community ambassadors – matched to members’ expertise, experience, and availability. The Volunteer Opportunities page is where to see what’s currently open and learn about the types of roles AHLA volunteers fill.
