Clients expect to receive a tailored and high-quality deliverable when they engage professional assistance. In my experience, one of the most practical drafting tools for use in meeting client expectations is often overlooked—the humble outline. The basic outlining technique that most of us learned to use for written assignments in junior high school and then learned again when drafting legal memoranda in law school is still incredibly useful for all professional assignments.
