OIG Blesses Drug Manufacturer's Travel, Lodging Assistance for Patients Prescribed One-Time Gene Therapy

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) will not impose administrative sanctions in connection with a pharmaceutical manufacturer’s proposal to provide financial assistance for travel, lodging, meals, and other related expenses to certain patients with a genetic blood disorder who are prescribed its gene therapy, according to an advisory opinion posted June 17.
