GAO Looks at State Regulation of PBMs

In the wake of rising drug costs, health plan use of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) has come under increasing scrutiny, with questions arising regarding certain practices, such as PBMs retaining a share of the rebates and use of spread pricing, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) noted in a report posted April 15.
