CMS Proposes Removing Suspect DME Spending from Medicare Shared Savings Program Financials

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is proposing to exclude certain payment amounts for durable medical equipment (DME) from financial calculations under the Medicare Shared Savings Programs to mitigate the effects of “highly suspect,” billing activity that could negatively impact Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs).
