U.S. Court in New York Rejects Action Against Health Care Providers over Involuntary Commitment

A patient who was involuntarily committed for 11 days could not bring claims for alleged violations of her Fourth and Fourteenth Amendment rights against her health care providers because they were not state actors, a federal court in New York held July 15.
