Health Care Providers May Task UnitedHealth with Data Breach Notifications

Health care providers “may delegate” to UnitedHealth Group responsibility for notifying patients if their protected health information was breached in the far-reaching Change Healthcare cyberattack that caused major disruptions in health care billing and payment systems nationwide, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights (OCR) announced May 31.
