U.S. Court in Michigan Tosses Whistleblower Action Against Tenet over Emergency Care Billing

A federal court in Michigan rejected August 23 a qui tam action against Tenet Healthcare Corporation and Detroit Medical Center (DMC) alleging their hospital subsidiaries fraudulently billed for inpatient services while patients were “boarded” in the emergency room (ER) to obtain higher reimbursement.
