Medicare Trust Fund Solvency Extended Five Years to 2038

Medicare's hospital insurance (HI) trust fund will be able to pay full benefits until 2038, five years later than projected last year, according to the 2024 Annual Report of the Boards of Trustees of the Federal Hospital Insurance and Federal Supplemental Medical Insurance Trust Funds issued this week.
