U.S. Court in California Allows Privacy Claims Against Online Counseling Platform in Data Sharing Class Action

Online counseling service BetterHelp, Inc. must face a class action alleging it improperly shared customers’ sensitive data, including mental health information, with advertisers, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California held July 15. The court did reject a number of plaintiffs’ claims with leave to amend.
