U.S. Court in Texas Finds Patients Had Standing in Data Breach Class Action

A federal district court refused September 3 to dismiss a data breach class action against health care provider American Pain and Wellness, PLLC finding the exposure of its patients’ personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) was a sufficiently concrete injury for standing purposes.
