Courts Block HHS Section 1557 Final Rule on Gender Identity Protections in Health Care, Lawsuits Mount

Three courts have blocked, one of them nationwide, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) from enforcing a final rule indicating the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA’s) nondiscrimination prohibition in health care “on the basis of sex” includes gender identity.
