Rite Aid Banned from Using AI Facial Recognition for Five Years Under FTC Consent Order

Rite Aid Corporation will be prohibited from using facial recognition technology for surveillance purposes for five years to settle Federal Trade Commission (FTC) charges that it failed to implement reasonable procedures and prevent harm to consumers in its use of the technology, FTC announced December 19.
