AHLA Partners with The Diversity Movement to Advance Key Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives
- December, 11, 2020
AHLA has partnered with The Diversity Movement to review and improve its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives as the premier membership organization for health law professionals.
The engagement will include a cultural assessment and review of past initiatives, analysis of various selection processes and procedures (calls for leaders, speakers, etc.), facilitated training and unconscious bias eLearning for all current AHLA appointed leaders, a Board of Directors workshop and debrief session, and recommendations and a timeline to advance key AHLA DEI initiatives.
“We understand that diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives are a process,” comments Teshia A. Birts, AHLA’s Director of Membership and Component Relations. “It takes work, dedication, and a thoughtful approach – we need to assess where we’ve been, plot out where we want to go, and then build a plan to get there. We look forward to engaging all AHLA leaders in building this plan for the Association.”
AHLA will also engage The Diversity Movement to review its practices as an employer, to ensure AHLA is recruiting diverse talent and ensuring an equitable and inclusive environment for staff to work in.
