AHLA Announces a New Publication to Aid Health Law Professionals who Respond to Digital Data Protection Laws
- January, 04, 2023
Washington, D.C. - AHLA is pleased to announce a new publication: Health Information Privacy and Breach: A 50 State Survey. This new resource will provide invaluable information for those who respond to data breaches or draft health record privacy and security policies.
“This resource should prove invaluable for those in the health care industry and those advising it on operations that cross state lines, such as providers of telehealth and remote patient monitoring services,” said Jonathan M. Joseph from Esquire in an excerpt provided in the Foreword of this publication.
Although the federal HIPAA Breach Notification Rule and the Federal Trade Commission Health Breach Notification Rule provide patient and consumer protections, they do not entirely cover digital data protections. This resource has been curated to ensure attorneys have the knowledge they need to ensure compliance with federal and state laws regarding digital information, health record privacy and security policies, and other digital data.
This new publication will be available for pre-order until the beginning of January. Interested parties can purchase this resource here.
