AHLA Announces Rob Gerberry as President-Elect Designate

AHLA is pleased to announce that Rob Gerberry has been elected as the President-Elect Designate. As Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary of Summa Health, Gerberry brings over twenty-five years of corporate health law experience to this leadership role. He currently serves on the AHLA Board of Directors and the Governance Committee, having previously served as Chair of the In-House Counsel Group and Vice Chair of Education.

At Summa Health, Gerberry oversees legal, audit, compliance, risk management, government and community relations, physician services, and governance functions for both provider operations and their health insurance plan. He advises the Board and executive team on strategic and operational matters, enterprise risk, and strategic planning.

Beyond his corporate role, Gerberry contributes to health law education as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Notre Dame and the Penn Carey Law School, teaching courses in Corporate Law, Compliance, and Governance. He previously taught Health Care Transactions and the Law of Health Care Organizations and Finance at the Case Western Reserve School of Law.

Gerberry earned his B.A. in Preprofessional Studies from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review and Executive Editor of the Journal of Law and Health. Prior to joining Summa Health, he practiced law in Cleveland, Ohio at Calfee, Halter & Griswold and McDonald, Hopkins. He remains active in his community, serving on several boards including the First Tee, International Soap Box Derby, and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission.
