AHLA Celebrates Winners of the 33rd Annual National Health Law Moot Court Competition

Washington, D.C. — The American Health Law Association (AHLA) is proud to announce the winners of the 33rd Annual National Health Law Moot Court Competition, held November 1 and 2 at the Southern Illinois University School of Law. AHLA has been a dedicated sponsor of this prestigious event, which showcases the legal acumen and advocacy skills of law students across the country. 

The participants argued a fictitious case before the U.S. Supreme Court on two distinct and complex issues related to a state law products liability statute and the federal False Claims Act. The competition featured 18 teams from law schools nationwide. The first, second, and third place winning teams each received a copy of AHLA’s Fundamentals of Health Law publication, as well as complimentary registration to either the Fundamentals of Health Law conference or the AHLA Annual Meeting. 

Winners of the 33rd Annual National Health Law Moot Court Competition:  

• Third Place: Seton Hall Law School - Joseph Keller and Tanya Panossian-Lesser
• Second Place: Texas A&M University School of Law - Michael Cooper, Irene Newman, and Savannah Wallace 
• First Place: Loyola University Chicago School of Law - Caity Greenspun and Garrett Wolf

Garrett Wolf was also awarded the second-best preliminary oralist, while Caity Greenspun earned the titles of best preliminary oralist and best overall oralist.
