AHLA Announces Asha Scielzo as New President

Washington, D.C. – AHLA is pleased to announce Asha Scielzo as the new Association President for the coming year. Scielzo began her term as president on July 1.
“It has been an honor to associate with Asha over the years and see the influence she provides as an ambassador for health law,” said David S. Cade, Chief Executive Officer of AHLA. “Her dynamic passion for health care and drive to get things done will be a major contributor in AHLA’s future success. I look forward to seeing what she will accomplish in the coming year.”
Scielzo has been a long-standing member of AHLA since 2002, serving in many leadership capacities as a board member, program chair, donor, and mentor. Bringing several years of health law practice experience to the classroom, she currently serves as the director of the Health Law and Policy Program at American University Washington College of Law channeling her deep passion for health care to champion progress in health law education. Scielzo dedicates her energy to guiding students and health law professionals across the nation in developing meaningful careers, while inspiring them to leave their mark on the industry and the field of health law.
Scielzo's presidency marks a significant milestone in AHLA's commitment to fostering a diverse and vibrant community. As the first president of South Asian descent, she emphasizes the importance of diversity and inclusive leadership within the association.
