Will a new Medicare payment model be the catalyst for widespread adoption of value-based arrangements by hospitals and health systems? In August 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) finalized the Transforming Episode Accountability Model (TEAM), a new, mandatory alternative payment model in which, beginning January 1, 2026, more than 700 acute care hospitals will be required to participate.1
