First Reflections—An Invitation to the 2025 Annual Meeting in San Diego

Nearly 38 years ago, I attended my first in-person AHLA (then known as NHLA) conference. From the first day, I was hooked. Never before had I been in the presence of so many intelligent and knowledgeable people who were willing—even excited—to share their expertise and insights with everyone present. Even more surprising, they were the friendliest and most collegial group of professionals I’d ever met. They not only accepted this newbie health lawyer, they went out of their way to make me feel welcome. And while I’ve gained knowledge and friends from every AHLA conference I’ve attended, the grandest of all have been the Annual Meetings, the source of some of my fondest AHLA memories and most enduring friendships.
