Patient Assistance Charity Sues HHS over Unfavorable Advisory Opinion

A nonprofit seeking to offer cost-sharing subsidizes to Medicare Part D beneficiaries for pricey oncology medications that are funded by the pharmaceutical companies that manufacturer those drugs is suing the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) after the Office of Inspector General (OIG) found the proposed patient assistance model posed more than a minimal risk of fraud and abuse.
