Arizona Health System Pays $1.25 Million in HIPAA Data Breach Settlement

Nonprofit health system Banner Health paid $1.25 million to the Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (OCR) to resolve potential violations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Security Rule in connection with a data breach that affected nearly 3 million consumers, the agency announced February 2.
