National Health Spending Growth Dips in 2021 as Federal Outlays for COVID Decline

National health spending reached $4.3 trillion in 2021, but the rate of growth slowed last year to a 2.7% clip after climbing by 10.3% in 2020, according to a report from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Office of the Actuary issued December 14.
