U.S. Court in Texas Nixes Part of OCR Online Tracking Technologies Guidance

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas held the Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (OCR) exceeded its statutory authority in guidance aimed at clarifying how health care providers can use online tracking technologies while complying with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
