FTC Fails to Obtain Preliminary Injunction to Block Novant’s Acquisition of Two CHS Hospitals

On June 5, 2024, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina denied the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) request for a preliminary injunction that would have paused Novant Health Inc.’s (Novant) proposed acquisition of Community Health Systems, Inc.’s (CHS) Lake Norman Regional Medical Center (LNR) and Davis Regional Psychiatric Hospital (Davis). The district court’s decision enabled the parties to close the transaction on or after June 11, 2024.
