MACPAC Calls for Improving Transparency of Non-Federal Share Medicaid, CHIP Financing

States should be required to collect and publicly report information on the sources of the non-federal share of Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) spending to help improve transparency over how much providers are paid under current financing mechanisms, the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) recommended in its June 2024 report to Congress.
