For many, the law is a calling that comes later in life, drawing established professionals from successful careers to the challenges of new opportunities. This sort of life sea change seems as if it would be rife with trials and tribulations, but the experiences of the second career attorneys interviewed for this article have been surprisingly and consistently positive. Most likely, their prior careers have prepared these second career attorneys with the transferable skill sets necessary to thrive in today’s highly competitive legal practice.
