GAO Details Rocky Rollout of No Surprises Act Dispute Resolution Process

As of June 2023, about 61% of the nearly 490,000 provider-payer payment disputes submitted to the federal independent dispute resolution (IDR) process under the No Surprises Act remained unresolved, according to a December 12 report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO).
