U.S. Court in Pennsylvania Rejects Parity Action over Residential Treatment Coverage Denial

A federal court in Pennsylvania granted summary judgment to defendant Independence Blue Cross in an action alleging its refusal to cover a teen’s stay at a mental health residential treatment facility violated the Employment Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008.
