FTC Sues Anesthesiology Provider, Private Equity Firm Alleging Anticompetitive “Roll Up” Scheme

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is suing U.S. Anesthesia Partners, Inc. (USAP) and its private equity backer Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe alleging they engaged in a multi-year “roll up” scheme to consolidate and monopolize the anesthesiology market in Texas.
