OIG Flags Gaps in Hospital Compliance with Price Transparency Requirements

An estimated 46% of the 5,879 hospitals subject to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) price transparency rule are not complying with federal requirements to make information on their standard charges available to the public, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in an audit report released November 8.
