European Commission Fines Illumina €432 Million for Closing Grail Merger

The European Commission fined genetic sequencing firm Illumina Inc. roughly €432 million for moving ahead with its acquisition of cancer detection company Grail in violation of European Union (EU) merger control rules. The Commission also fined Grail approximately €1,000.
