Novant Health Drops Bid to Acquire North Carolina Hospitals After Fourth Circuit Pauses Deal

Novant Health Inc. has decided not to pursue a $320 million deal to acquire two North Carolina hospitals from Community Health Systems, Inc. (CHS) after a divided Fourth Circuit panel granted June 18 the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC’s) emergency bid to temporarily stop the transaction from moving forward.
