FTC Charges Fertility App Operator Violated Health Breach Notification Rule

In a second of its kind enforcement action involving the Health Breach Notification Rule, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed a proposed order May 17 that would require Easy Healthcare Corporation, which operates a fertility tracking app, to pay a $100,000 civil penalty and be permanently prohibited from sharing user personal health data with third parties for advertising.
