U.S. Court in Louisiana Says Material Facts Remain Regarding Appropriateness of Patient Screening

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana refused February 27 to grant summary judgment to a minor patient’s father on his claims under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), finding material issues for the trier of fact as to the appropriateness of the patient’s medical screening.
