Structuring a Concierge Medical Practice: Insurance, Legal, and Other Business Considerations

The practice of medicine is said to be an art, not just science. It also is a business, and as a business, is subject to outside influences and a changing health care environment. The current health care environment finds many providers facing decreasing insurance reimbursement, increasing restraints on the time providers can spend with patients, and a growing population of patients who have no or inadequate insurance coverage. Facing these challenges, a substantial number of providers are transitioning from a more traditional medical practice to a concierge medical practice format.
