Massachusetts SNF Resolves Disability Discrimination Probe Alleging Admission Denials to Patients Taking Opioid Use Disorder Meds

A Boston, MA skilled nursing facility (SNF) will pay a $111,614 civil penalty and take other measures to resolve allegations it engaged in discriminatory practices by denying admission to individuals because they were taking medication to treat Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), the Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts announced November 13.
