Hospice Owner Sentenced to Six Years for Admitting Non-Terminal Patients

U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana Brandon B. Brown announced June 20 that Kristal Glover-Wing, the owner of Angel Care Hospice, was sentenced to 72 months in prison for conspiracy to commit health care fraud and three counts of health care fraud.
Glover-Wing was also ordered to pay $3,675,948.42 in restitution.
According to evidence presented at trial, from approximately 2009 through 2017, over 24 patients were placed on hospice by Angel Care without meeting the criteria required by Medicare.
