U.S. Court in California Won't Nix Action Against Meta over Alleged Health Care Data Collection

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California refused September 7 to dismiss a class action against Meta Platform, Inc. alleging it improperly acquired the confidential health information of Facebook users through proprietary computer code installed on health care provider patient portals in violation of federal and state law and the company’s policies.
