Plaintiff Wins Class Certification in Mental Health Coverage Row Against United Behavioral Health

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York agreed September 14 to certify a class of plan participants who were denied coverage of mental health residential treatment by third-party administrator United Behavioral Health (UBH) because at least some component of the facilities’ services included “unproven, experimental, or investigational” treatment.
