OIG Questions Billions in Risk-Adjusted Payments to Medicare Advantage Plans

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) is again raising concerns that Medicare Advantage (MA) plans may be receiving inflated risk-adjustment payments based on health risk assessments (HRAs) and chart reviews that uncover patient diagnoses without other service records.
