Final Rule Aims to Expand Access to Opioid Use Disorder Treatment

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) issued February 2 a final rule (89 Fed. Reg. 7528) aimed at expanding access to treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD), including permanently easing restrictions on take-home doses of methadone and the use of telehealth when initiating buprenorphine.
