Health Care Clearinghouse Pays $250,000 to Resolve Potential HIPAA Violations

Inmediata Health Group, LLC (Inmediata), a health care clearinghouse, paid $250,000 to resolve potential violations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) for allegedly leaving protected health information (PHI) unsecured on the internet, the Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (OCR) announced December 10.
