OIG Greenlights Gene Therapy Travel Assistance but Won’t Rule out Sanctions for Fertility Support Proposals

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) will not impose administrative sanctions in connection with a biotechnology company’s proposal to provide financial assistance for travel, lodging, meals, and other related expenses to certain patients with genetic diseases who are prescribed its one-time gene therapies, according to a recent advisory opinion.
