U.S. Court in Idaho Tosses Neurosurgery Practice’s Antitrust Action Against Hospital over Unpaid Call Coverage Requirement

A federal court in Idaho dismissed, without prejudice, an independent neurosurgery practice’s antitrust claims against St. Luke’s Health System alleging the uncompensated, continuous on-call coverage requirement in its emergency department that it imposed on the group’s physicians as a condition of maintaining medical staff privileges at the hospital was anticompetitive.
