OIG Allows County to Sublease Space and Lease Equipment to Ambulance Supplier with Exclusive Contract

An arrangement by a county and its department of public health’s emergency medical services (EMS) division for the sublease of certain space and lease of certain furniture and equipment to a private ambulance company that has an exclusive contract for the provision of emergency ambulance transports in certain parts of County would not trigger sanctions, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in an advisory opinion posted December 23, 2022.
