Second Circuit Rejects Hospital’s Challenge to Uncompensated Care Estimate

The Medicare statute precluded Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) from challenging the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary’s “estimate” of its uncompensated care costs for determining disproportionate share hospital (DSH) payments, the Second Circuit ruled December 20, 2022.
